Notable because: Successful Pashto singing musician from a family of musicians, with 12 albums released, who offended Islamic ways by asking her husband for a divorce after only six months of marriage following her discovery that he had another wife and because of his his attempts to stop her singing, and was gunned down at just 24, seemingly in an honour killing ordered by her irate ex husband, muslim Jehangir Khan.
Ghazala Javed was a Pukhtu singer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Ghazala Javed born in Tahir Abad Muhallah of Mingora, district Swat to Javed. She began her career with dancing at the age of sixteen. In 2008, her family shifted to Peshawar due to hardcore Taliban rule and subsequent military operations against them by Pakistan Army. They settled in Peshawar and there Ghazala started singing in Pashto Language. She received listeners from "Baran dy baran dy". In the later years she sang more melodious songs and became known amongst the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and even amongst Pakhtun living abroad. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award in 2010 and received a Khyber Award in 2011.
Ghazala Javed was married to Jehangir Khan, a property dealer of Peshawar on 7 February 2010, but of late was living with her father due to differences with her husband. She came to know that her husband had a wife before her and that divulgation eventually led to her separation from her husband. On 18 November 2010 she parted from her husband and moved to her parents home. Ghazala Javed filed a petition in the civil court of Asghar in Swat for divorce from Jehangir on 12 October 2011.The court decided in her favour on 4 December 2011. Gehangir repeatedly asked and even threatened her to live with him again but she refused and that eventually led to her tragic death along with her father.
Javed was shot dead along with her father in a drive-by shooting by gunmen on a motorcycle. Police confirmed that the singer's ex-husband is a suspect in the case, and that the Taliban are not believed to have been involved. Ghazala Javed with her sister and father just getting out of beauty parlour in Dabgari Garden when unknown gunmen opened fire on them.
“Two men on a motorbike sprayed bullets and fled leaving them in a pool of blood,” said Dilawar Bangash, a senior police officer.
She was hit with six bullets and pronounced dead along with her father at a hospital in Peshawar. Her sister Farhat Javed accused her husband for the killing. Today on 19 June 2012, she and her father buried in their native Swat. Thousand of people participated in her funeral procession.
She started early singing in the of 2004 and now she is a popular pashto singer. She has a sweet and clear voice. she is very famous in young pashtoon generation. Ghazala is now establishing her voice for new generation. her voice often seems so soft than Nazia Iqbal, Ghazala Javed got married to a man in Peshawarin 2009, Ghazala Javed was also a dancer, She has dance sometimes in weeding parties, Ghazala Javed has an attractive face...... maybe She came into Pashto film or telefilms industry, Ghazala Javed has sung with Rahim Shah, When they sang this song "Za sta yama Janana" and "Ta khukoli qudrati yaw gul da fasarli" in 2010 that song has gone very popular in pashto music world and fans, After that Ghazala Javed is on
